New York City – July 29, 2025 marked a pivotal moment for the Odoo ecosystem in the United States. The Odoo Community US (OCUS) held its inaugural meeting, bringing together developers, partners, consultants, and users to kick off a new chapter in open-source ERP collaboration and innovation.
OCUS is here with a mission: to build a thriving, sustainable, and inclusive community around Odoo in the U.S., while aligning closely with the global Odoo Community Association (OCA). "This kick-off meeting served as both a celebration and a serious working session to lay the foundation for OCUS’s immediate and long-term goals,” said Jorge Elena Poblet, Founder and CEO of Binhex, who, together with Michel Stroom, Founder and Senior Business Consultant at Fluent Advice, are the initiators of the Odoo Community US (OCUS).
Why OCUS? Why Now?
Despite thousands of live Odoo implementations in the U.S., the community has lacked a unified, structured local presence. OCUS is stepping in to fill that gap — with the backing of the global OCA, over 20,000 community-developed apps, 624 official members, and 1400+ contributors worldwide.
By forming a OCA local U.S. branch, OCUS aims to:
- Promote quality and maintainability in U.S.-based Odoo solutions
- Connect U.S. implementers, developers, and users to the global OCA
- Create visibility and credibility for U.S. contributors and agencies
- Support learning, growth, and collaboration through events, training, and working groups
